Teaching Assistant

The Supply Room are currently seeking a knowledgeable and outgoing Teaching Assistant to support a school in the BS31 area.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support students with challenging behaviour and SEND in the classroom, providing one-to-one or small group support as needed
- Implement behaviour management strategies to help students regulate their emotions and develop more positive behaviours
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to build their self-esteem and confidence
- Help to create and adapt resources to support the individual learning needs of students with SEND
- Collaborate with external professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists to ensure the best support for students
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and discuss strategies for supporting their child's learning at home
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour and/or SEND, preferably in a school setting
- A relevant qualification in Teaching Assistant or Special Educational Needs would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs
- An understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working independently when necessary
- Right to Work in the UK

This is a full-time, temporary position through agency and not guaranteed permanent employment. You must be available to start ASAP, and have availability on a full-time basis (08:30 - 16:00) Monday to Friday. This is a term time only position.
