**Technical Officer**

**Location**: Wellington, Telford

**Salary**: £32,798 - £35,336 per annum

**Job Purpose**

The main role of the postholder is to deliver the Disabled Facilities Grant aided adaptations programme. The postholder will be part of the Building Surveying, Mechanical and Electrical team, which comprises Building Surveyors, Surveying Technicians, MechanicalEngineers, Electrical Engineers and Admin Support.

The Building Surveying, Mechanical and Electrical service is provided for the Council and other Clients with whom the post holder will work closely to develop adaptation solutions and development of existing properties and managing resultant programmes ofwork.

**Role Requirements**
- HNC in Building Studies or equivalent
- Membership of a professional body e.g. CIOB, CIAT,RICS or working towards membership

**Qualifications**
- Extensive experience of disability adaptation work, and working with older or disabled persons in a sensitive manner
- Extensive experience of using technical role to support the delivery of area based regeneration/renewal.
- Experience of working with care professionals to deliver suitable building solutions to meet the complex needs of disabled and vulnerable persons
- Working within a fee earning business unit, contributing to fee income targets.
- Carrying out building condition and dilapidation surveys.
- A full understanding and working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in relation to building projects particular the CDM regulations 2007, Designer responsibilities and responsibilities of the other parties
