**We are looking for a Yard Assistant to join our team at Jewson Basingstoke (RG24 8PY)**

As a **Yard Assistant**, your role will be essential to keeping our yard running smoothly. From serving our customers in the yard to loading vehicles ready for delivery, and from monitoring stock to growing our sales, you'll be at the heartof our operations.

We're a busy and well established branch on the Hampshire with a friendly team who pride ourselves on offering a great service and excellent product knowledge. We have a sales office, warehouse, yard stores, shop & counter, timber supply and customer deliveryvehicles

Experience within our industry is not essential, we are committed to providing you with the full tools and support required to carry out your role within **Jewson**. If you love working with people, you're a good listener and you think you could help our customers feel welcome, then this could be a great opportunity for you to join our team as a **Yard Assistant**

**So, what will you be doing?**

Our **Yard Assistants**have a strong focus on customer service as well as working out in the yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers and enjoys working outdoors. We will provide you with fullwork-wear and PPE.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Fork Lift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
- Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

**Hours of Work**:Full time - Monday-Friday 7.30am-5pm and every other Saturday 8am-12pm.
