We’re relaunching our brand, bringing greater clarity to what we do and how we talk about it in the market. We work in an industry that’s notoriously prolix and opaque: Our new brand identity focuses on our ability as an organisation to “know what really matters” and, to support this, we’re rolling out a new, consistent tone of voice, which supports that core purpose across all our communication, publications, and other material.

**Responsibilities**

Content production forms a central part of what we do at Source: From writing reports, blog, and white papers to tailored presentations. Our challenge is that many people in our business create this content, and as a result, the quality and tone can vary. We’re looking for a Managing Editor to create a seamless and effective editing function, running a small team, to act as an ambassador for our new brand guidelines and ensure that each piece of content that is created is consistent and of the upmost quality.

The managing editor will be the last pair of eyes to view the content that goes out to market, so accountability will sit with them. They will manage the flow of work, as well as edit, and provide feedback on the writing and editing to others.
- Take ownership of, and be responsible for, ensuring that our tone of voice is consistent and in line with brand guidelines
- Create an efficient editing process, managing it end-to-end.
- Edit, copy-edit, and proof relevant materials
- Provide feedback to writers in addition to editors and proofers
- Manage a team of copyeditors, and in time, decide how to run this team
- Manage the Source style guide, ensuring its implementation and updating it when appropriate
- Monitor the quality of writing and editing across all of Source’s content, identify areas of potential improvement, and work with individuals to realise that improvement

**Requirements**:
We are looking for a talented and versatile B2B managing editor with a sharp eye, strong knowledge of grammar, and experience implementing, and adhering to, a style guide. You must be comfortable questioning other peoples’ writing and making decisive edits as well as editing long-form analysis that includes data.

In support of this, we also allow two hours per week for employees to put their mental health first—the whole business switches off from technology, and uses the time to connect with one another, think deeply about the tasks they’re working on, and use the time in a way that promotes positive well-being.

We appreciate hard work: At the end of each year we split 10% of our pre-tax profit between everyone across the business, and we also reward people with performance-based bonuses.
