This is an opportunity to join a Barnardo's service with an excellent reputation for delivery high quality therapeutic services for children and their families in Cardiff. Delivered for over four years the (FWBS) is developing to meet the needs of families through the improved pathways of care across the region.
As a Systemic Clinical Lead you will be an experienced mental health professional with strong leadership qualities. In the FWBS you will:
- Oversee operational delivery, interventions and outcome measures as part of the management team
- Support the staff team to develop and implement holistic therapeutic programmes for individuals, families and groups.
- Collaboratively ensure safe practice by providing clinical advice, consultation and learning to staff
- Contribute to the clinical use of assessment information to create coherent formulations for each family
- Provide clinical supervision for the staff.
You will be closely supported by the Expert Advisory Group, Children's Service Manager and Assistant Director, receiving regular clinical and managerial supervision.
Essential criteria:
- Professional qualification in a core health / social profession and registered with the professional body, e.g. first level mental health nurse (RMN), Social Work (DipSW), Occupational therapy (Dip OT),
- A recognised postgraduate/specialist qualification/applied qualification e.g. State Registered Arts Therapy, Family Therapist. Or evidence of relevant post registration training and development; DBT, MBT, Structured Clinical Management and other evidence based therapeutic approaches.
- Training in Clinical Supervision and experience of supervising staff.
- Substantial relevant experience of therapeutic work with children, young people and families and an understanding of the factors impacting on vulnerable children and young people.
- Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic work.
- Knowledge of current practice and legislation alongside experience of managing and exploring ethical practice issues in line with relevant clinical guidelines.
