**Overview**

My client, a bespoke manufacturer, are currently recruiting for a Product Engineer to join their facility in Reading.The successful Product Engineer will provide engineering and technical support from customer requirement through to production. In a newlycreated role to the business, you will fulfil a multidisciplinary including aspects of both design and manufacturing engineering.

**Role Responsibilities - **Product Engineer**
- Provide engineering and technical support during design, development and manufacturing stages.
- Work on multiple concurrent projects varying in size. Combination of NPI and sustainment projects including continuous improvement.
- Creation and development of technical documentation including compliance, verification & validation acceptance for new and existing projects.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure products are suitable for design, manufacture and test.
- Work with internal teams to identify and alleviate potential bottlenecks
- Create detail drawings for tooling, jigs/fixtures.
- Create and maintain bill of materials (BoM) of designs and tooling.
- Develop and maintain test leads/harnessing, test equipment to support new build and sustainment of existing production processes.
- Produce and maintain accurate manufacturing routings to allow efficient shop floor planning.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects

**Qualifications and Experience - **Product Engineer**
- 3 years work experience in a hands on electromechanical manufacturing environment
- 2D and 3D CAD experience, technical drawings and schematic creation
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA)
- DFMEA, PFMEA Lean tools/principles experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes - mechanical and electrical
- Working knowledge of modern manufacturing methods including Lean processes.
- Strong communicator comfortable liaising with multidisciplinary functions
