**Dawson Levy Resourcing**are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a leading client of ours on a permanent basis working within the Water Industry.

**Role Overview**:
In this exciting Site Engineer role, you will be key to the growth and development of our engineering team and to deliver successful projects in the South West region. Overall responsibility for our team for site engineering and setting out, you will providesupport to our operational team to ensure works are constructed within allowable tolerances. In addition, you will provide engineering support, ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.

Ensure our workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out. Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effectiveunderstanding. Be aware of the provisions of Safety, Health and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.

As an integral member of our team, you'll coordinate and manage civils engineering activities and setting out, quality control, management of progress and reporting directly to the Project Manager.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure Health & Safety are of paramount importance
- Regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve construction performance
- Ensure commercial challenge at all times
- Co-ordinating engineering activities
- Co-ordination of all site control and surveying on the site
- Procuring and maintaining surveying and setting out equipment
- Daily co-ordination and analysis of survey / settlement and monitoring results. Distribution of the results to all stakeholders, implementing contingency plans if necessary
- Checking and distribution of drawings / documents and quantities and ensuring that any calculations are accurate for the works
- Overseeing all civil engineering drawings, spotting potential areas either for error or for value to improve programme and cost
- Supporting with the selection and procurement of materials for use in the construction and their value
- Planning the work and efficiently organising site teams in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
- Attending regular meetings with clients and consultants, and keeping them informed of progress
- Supervising and monitoring the site labour force and monitoring the work of any subcontractors
- Overseeing quality control, ensuring all Inspection and test forms are completed and recorded
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may occur
- Promote Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting
- Engage with Supply Chain
- Development of strong team working relationships
- Helping to ensure all project KPI's and KPM's are achieved
- Cost risk management and early identification of problematic issues on site

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- An industry applicable qualification
- Civil engineering experience (water industry is beneficial)
- Conversant in setting out and surveying techniques and modern instrumentation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- CSCS
- SMSTS
- First Aid
- CAD experience desirable
- Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture
