Woodentots Montessori School established in 1989 has become a big part of the local community. Woodentots has built it’s reputation upon its natural and creative approach, celebrating 30 years of dedication to Camden’s children.

**The main responsibilities of this job role will include**:

- Working towards **Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship**.
- Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
- Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns **whilst having fun**.
- Being a team player.
- **Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children**:

- Taking part in First Aid training as required
- Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery
- Working with teams across the nursery setting
- **Supporting children’s learning and development.**:

- Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
- Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
- Supporting children’s self-help needs.
- **Being creative and enthusiastic**.
- Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.

The environment has been well thought out to offer a natural sensory experience. Beautiful wooden toys and materials that are carefully chosen for heuristic play. Following the Montessori philosophy “help me to do it alone” low level shelves and baskets are arranged with “treasure baskets” to develop sensory awareness, strengthen cognitive development and promote independence. Imagination and creativity are nurtured through free play with simple toys and natural materials.

Every day come rain or shine we will go out and about in our “turtle bus” (pushchair for 6) to access nature in our own natural garden. 3 days a week the children go to Forest School where child - led exploration offers watching, listening, touching and smelling nature. Our walkers have a fuller Forest School experience building dens, creating natural crafts, identifying mini beasts and pond dipping.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: From £5.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Nursery: 1 year (preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
