In your role as Marine Claims Advocate, you will report to the Head of Transportation Claims.

You will work in conjunction with our existing marine claims advocate and assume responsibility for the delivery of claims service across our team of associates.

You will assume responsibility for any large, contentious or complex losses, and the upwards reporting within Lockton.

You will be the escalation point for referrals, and provide technical direction & support to our team of associates.

You will work closely with our Team Lead to oversee the allocation of accounts, that team objectives are set, and goals are met.

You will liaise closely with our placing team, keeping them appraised of all material claim / market updates, while supporting them in their pitches for new business.

You will be an advocate for, and promote, Lockton culture & behaviours.

You will work closely with our claim associates to promote & encourage their learning & development.

You will be handling a variety of claims and responsible for a portfolio of accounts.

Our portfolio consists principally of open market wholesale and retail business.

You will be handling marine claims principally Hull and Machinery and Marine Liability claims, and should be able to demonstrate your experience handling these classes.

You should be familiar with & be able to interact with claims market systems.

You will be required to meet agreed Service Standards, volumes and performance levels in line with the Key Performance Indicators and handle claims efficiently in a proactive manner through physical and/or electronic broking, negotiations & management of claims payment process.

For key accounts you will be responsible for maintaining claims relationships, including regular calls, and provision of claims reports and management of Insurers.
- You will be expected to work closely with the Hull placing team, and keep them appraised of all key loss developments and identification of trends.
- QualificationsExtensive experience of marine hull claims experience preferable.

Knowledge of relevant policy coverages and exclusions.

Proficient in using the London market systems e.g. ECF, CLASS

Working towards ACII qualifications would be an advantage.

Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, networking, influencing and negotiation skills
