We are engaged in developing future generations of robotic solutions for use in our warehouses around the world. Our team works to design, develop and support the Power, Signal Management and Embedded hardware systems of our autonomous bots. **How you'll spend your days...** As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will be embedded in a team with responsibility for a defined family of OSP BOTs ranges, providing design and engineering support to existing and new products. Also, interpreting design requirements and developing them into workable product designs, being mindful of DFX practices. Reporting progress and completion status to the Project Manager(s) for the stream will be part of your responsibility. Being responsible for Change Management for a range of products and transforming existing design documentation will be an important part of your role. Improving related meta-data within a PDM or PLM environment and reporting on change process KPIs will be key. Other responsibilities might include; - Collaborating with other teams on system architecture and strategic engineering direction, product specifications and roadmaps - Developing products from design through to testing and production - Generating, reviewing and signing off product defining data such as schematics, cable routing models, BOM reports, nailboards and harness drawings - Ensuring safety is design into systems to minimise risks and the relevant standards and regulations (national and international) are satisfied - Assisting with continuous improvement and RCA activities as required from problem statement and root cause analysis to solution proposal, trial and implementation - Conducting design reviews for new product designs and changes to existing designs from both internal and external design resources - Advising on test procedures and test rigs to support development of design verification and validation test plans - Setting electrical engineering best practices - Mentoring junior engineers **We'd love to talk to you if you have...** - An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification - Ability to select standard components and design automation products - Proficient in reading design files and drawings including electrical, electronic and mechanical - Experience creating detailed drawings, schematics and models using CAD software - Ability to work to requirements, developing functional design specifications **Bonus points if you also have...** - Experience with Eplan P8, Propanel or Harness ProD - Understanding of simulation of electrical systems - Proven track record using Matlab - Knowledge of machinery directive - Knowledge of CAN bus and CAN open, and other bus protocols - Actively worked on DFMEA or PFMEA - Ability to develop and maintain electrical calculators, thermal modelling of system electrical components - Hands on electrical cabinet build and installation experience - Familiarity of warehouse automation or other automation industries - Experience in live production scenarios Please don't worry, this is not an exhaustive list If you feel you'd be a good fit for the role there are some things we can teach you, so we would still love to hear from you. **What we offer you...** Our employee benefits are designed for you, we care about people and we've ensured we have a wealth of benefits that focus on your well-being.
