Female Care Worker

We are looking for **Complex & Palliative Care Workers** to join our Complex & Palliative Home Care service.

As part of your role, you will have a mixture of complex, non-complex and palliative care calls. _You will provide care and support for people living within the Newcastle area._

**Roles**:

- **Individual Care Service (Dementia Care, Non Complex) - Part-time, waking nightshifts (Walker, NE6)**:

- ** Individual Care Service (Complex Care) - Full-time, female driver (Slatyford, NE5)**:

- ** Various Home Support Services (Palliative and Non Complex) - Part time, walkers and drivers (Fenham, NE4)**:

- ** Various Home Support Services (Palliative and Non Complex)
- Part time, walkers and drivers (Chapel Park/Chapel House, NE5)**

**Pay: £11.25 p/hr **(Complex) / **£10.75 p/hr **(Non-complex and Palliative)
- Mileage - 40p per mile for drivers
- Full-time & Part-time hours available

Palliative care requires individuals who are kind, dedicated, committed, and have a genuine desire to support someone to have high-quality person-centred end-of-life care. The goal is to make sure our customers' needs are met, where they feel most comfortable, within their own homes.

Complex care is person-centred specialist support for someone with a chronic, long-term health condition and complex needs, who require extra assistance to manage their symptoms and day-to-day activities to enable a high quality of life. This will include some people who have complex care needs, for example, PEG feeds, tracheostomy care, spinal injuries, bowel care, ventilation.** **Our in-house Nurse will ensure you have the competencies and specialist training for your **role.**

**Working hours and shift patterns**:

- Alternate full weekends
- Early shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm
- Late shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm

**Comprehensive Training**

If you have the right values, we will provide you with the training you need to be an outstanding **Complex & Palliative Care Worker**. You will be provided with specialist and bespoke training, designed around the needs of the individuals you provide care for. You will be required to participate in additional training dependent on the needs of the service user, this may include but is not limited to:

- Extensive end-of-life training.
- Complex training and competency spot checks, carried out by our registered nurse, which could include:

- Nutritional needs via PEG
- Bowel care
- Cough assist
- Tracheostomy care
- Spinal injury associated care
- Ventilation needs
- Assistance with suction
- Acquired brain injury (ABI) associated needs
- Support with epilepsy including rescue medication administration
- Dealing with autonomic dysreflexia (AD) attacks
- Complex moving and positioning, including the use of equipment
