**The Role/Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing and Inbound Planner to work within the Procurement Department of a growing business based near Ely. Monkfield Reptile are a well-established market leader in live food, reptiles and reptile products serving the pet industry globally.

The Purchasing and Inbound Planner will assist the senior buyer in purchasing various goods and services for the organisation. The position requires excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained
- Issue purchase orders and monitor delivery of goods to ensure compliance with required specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules
- Manage daily communication with suppliers, including resolving purchase order discrepancies, price discrepancies, and product issues
- Coordinate inbound logistics, including shipment tracking and customs clearance (if applicable)
- Work closely with transport providers to manage delivery schedules and reduce costs.
- Resolve delays, discrepancies, or damages with suppliers or carriers.
- Assist in sourcing, selecting and negotiating with vendors for goods and services
- Help maintain supplier relationships and work closely with suppliers to resolve any quality or delivery issues
- Ensure that all purchases are in compliance with company policies and procedures as well as legal and ethical standards
- Prepare reports and data analysis for senior management
- Other duties as assigned
- 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management preferred, although not essential, as training will be provided
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An effective team player
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Competence with Excel
- Experience with MS Office and ERP systems (desirable)

The Purchasing and Inbound Planner will work in an office environment based near Ely.
