The Postgraduate Medical Education Department are looking for an enthusiastic teaching fellow to work with the team providing teaching for all clinical members of North Bristol Trust.

To assist in the development and actively participate in the delivery of core curriculum teaching programmes for all junior medical staff.

Ensure that the education and development needs of all junior medical staff are met and meet the HEE South West and Royal College quality assurance standards.

The post holder will become a member of the Postgraduate Medical Education Team and will expand the current faculty of Medical Education Trainers within NBT to enable the Trust to become self-sufficient in terms of delivery of Medical Education.
- To assist with the development and delivery of simulation training for all medical staff where possible incorporating the wider multi-disciplinary team, including regular in-situ simulation training.
- To support the development and delivery of our post-graduate simulation programme, both internal and external (including regional teaching sessions) existing and future potential new courses.
- Delivery of train the trainer courses to provide faculty development opportunities.
- To co-ordinate and deliver interview skills training for foundation and clinical fellow doctors.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of Foundation in-house teaching including F2 regional teaching programmes held at NBT.
- In conjunction with the QI team, lead on the development of Quality Improvement projects for postgraduate doctors in training. Look at processes required to expand the programme to other grades of staff.
- Adaptable, flexible approach to working across the retained estate including L & R and the Brunel Building.
- Standard keyboard skills and use of VDU in an integral part of the role.
- Manual dexterity required to maintain and demonstrate a range of equipment.
- Moving of furniture and heavy equipment will be required on a regular basis. Including frequent lifting and moving of equipment for several short periods requiring moderate effort (on a daily basis)
- There will be a need to manage the demands of the service and to adapt to unplanned requests when required.
- Frequent need to change tasks in answering enquiries and offering assistance to service users.

In conjunction with the PGME team assist in developing and leading the Return to Practice Courses for trainees in the South West, this will include a detailed pre-return training course tailored to the individual needs of that trainee including, simulation, clinical skills, pastoral support and co-ordinated KIT days.
- To assist the Associate DME for Support in the planning and development of the peer mentoring scheme, the junior doctors action committee for wellbeing and the cake and a brew sessions.
- To enhance multi-professional teamwork across North Bristol NHS Trust. That will develop new and existing links across the clinical divisions to facilitate attendance of non-medical team members to our multi-professional training events and ensure the content of these sessions is mapped to the educational needs of all those that attend.
- To deliver Human Factors training for medical and non-medical colleagues to enhance teamwork and patient safety. To assist with the development of the Team Non-Technical Skills brand as a commercial entity for delivery from SimSpace.
- Develop and implement the Postgraduate Medical Education team objectives. Ensuring they are aligned to the People and Transformation directorate goals and wider Trust strategic themes. Adapting to change depending on the needs of the service.
- Develop programmes to enhance SimSpace portfolio that will allow the centre to be ASPiH accredited.
- To maintain competence in clinical practice.
