Join to apply for the Obs and Gynae Clinical Fellow ST3+ role at North Bristol NHS Trust Job Overview Fixed-term (6 months) Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Southmead Hospital, South Bristol. Full‑time position; part‑time applicants may be considered. Opportunity for extension beyond 6 months. Key Responsibilities Provide obstetric and gynaecological care at ST3 level. Participate in middle‑grade rota with out‑of‑hours component (overnight & daytime). Work within a multidisciplinary team and support patient care, training and research. Support teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates. Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and research activities. Person Specification – Essential Criteria Evidence of understanding and application of knowledge of the specialty. Willingness to seek help from senior colleagues as appropriate. Competent history taking and examination skills. Competent at ST3 level obstetrics and gynaecology. Demonstrated interest in research. Experience/excitement in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates. Able to contribute to departmental teaching sessions. Person Specification – Desirable Criteria Contribution to published research. Involvement with basic medical audit. Understands principles of clinical audit. Strong interest in managing/educating around complex Placenta Accreta. Ability to manage more complex communication issues – shared decision making. Work Experience – Essential Criteria Completed pre‑registration year (or equivalent outside UK). Experience and ability to work at a registrar (ST3+) level. Not more than 5 years experience of Obs/Gynae in UK. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent via postgraduate exams e.g. MRCOG part 2). Education/Training/Qualifications – Essential Criteria MBBS (or equivalent). Full registration with GMC or limited registration covering scope of employment. Evidence of training progression. MRCOG part 1. Education/Training/Qualifications – Desirable Criteria MRCOG part 2. Personal Qualities Able to communicate effectively with patients and relatives, establish good working relationships with multidisciplinary team, good oral and written presentation skills, good organisational and time‑management skills.
