**Head of Operational Resilience, London, Permanent**
The role holder will develop, implement, embed, test & exercise, educate and maintain the Operational Resilience Framework to ensure all Directorates are appropriately prepared for disruptions. They will work in conjunction with senior executives, directorate and resilience leads across the organisation to ensure the Important Business Services are reviewed, mapped and assessed along with providing evidence of increased operational resilience.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership strategy and direction on operational resilience matters across Pay.UK, maturing the Operational Resilience Framework commensurate with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
- Responsible for ensuring operational resilience is fully integrated into all business and operational processes through the development of quality management systems and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including critical third parties, customers and regulators.
- A trusted adviser on all aspects of operational resilience to the Pay.UK Senior Leadership Team, including ExCo & Board, providing appropriate management information to inform decisions which have consequences for operational resilience and ensuring key performance indicators are achieved and Pay.UK's reputation is preserved.
- Liaise and work closely with the Security & Technology Risk Function and Third Party Risk Management team to ensure a coordinated approach across the boundaries of operational resilience, including business continuity and crisis management. Proactively working to reduce the likelihood of disruption to key services and ensuring that all Business Areas are appropriately prepared for disruptions.
- Conduct Pay.UK's annual Operational Resilience self-assessment process in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation, including the payments infrastructure provider, reviewing and updating important business services and impact tolerances. Where vulnerabilities are identified support the business to manage these through to closure and ensure Pay.UK remains robust & resilient.
- Develop, maintain and support the execution of plans to test Pay.UK's abilities to remain within impact tolerances for important business services in the event of a severe but plausible disruption to operations. Ensure lessons learned from disruption events and incidents are captured and acted upon, through an effective root cause analysis process.
- Oversee and administer all Pay.UK Resilience forums and associated sub-committees, including the validation of management information reporting and business intelligence that informs Pay.UK's reporting requirements.
- Ensure appropriate and pro-active relationships are established and maintained with key stakeholders along with corresponding Resilience functions within Participant Banks, Key Suppliers and other Payment Schemes.
- Support facilitation and coordination of sector-wide stressed scenario exercises.
**Skills, Qualifications & Experience**
- Significant experience in 2LoD FS operational resilience preferably supported by extensive payments industry knowledge.
- Demonstrable knowledge of industry standards and best practices in operational resilience
- Experience of maturing industry good practice Operational Resilience Frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience of implementing operational resilience tools (e.g. Fusion Risk Management)
- Ability to interface with senior stakeholders effectively to establish relationships and become a trusted advisor.
- Ability to produce Board and Executive level risk reports.
- Independently minded and able to challenge constructively and professionally.
- Proven ability to plan and manage own workload in a challenging environment.
