Summary Our retail team is busy planning and delivering the National Trust's product and supplier strategy, managing sales of £30m per year - and this is only set to grow.

Your contractual location will be Heelis, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

What you'll be doing You'll will be responsible for growing the business commercially and in new and innovative directions, identifying new opportunities and exploiting them to meet budgets.

You'll be responsible for creating ranges that link back to cause, engaging both the organisation and our supporters - and in turn extending the Trust’s reach and emotional connection to our audiences.

You'll be a strong negotiator and will build solid relationships, especially with the merchandising team, to achieve optimum results through effective strategic management of the team, budget and supply base. You will be flexible and have positive attitude.You will be responsible for multiple categories and lead your team of an Assistant buyer and Buyers admin.

Who we're looking for
- Extensive knowledge of the UK retail market and worldwide supplier base for the relevant product areas
- In depth understanding of product design, product development and manufacturing processes
- In depth experience of range building, product management and understanding of the drivers for customer satisfaction, repeat business, spend, margins and profitability across multiple sites and online
- Knowledge of buying planning systems
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and communication skills
- Experience in ensuring policies, frameworks and standards are fully implemented
