Senior Auditor/ Assistant Manager

**Job Introduction**
This is a fantastic opportunityfor an experienced Auditor to join us as an Assistant Manager, within our GroupInternal Audit team, working for one of the largest Building Societies in theUK. The role will focus on Operational and Conduct risks, with thesuccessfulapplicant working and leading on a varied portfolio of audit assignments,across the Connells Estate Agency Group (the largest subsidiary of the BuildingSociety). Group Internal Audit are the third line of defence within the SkiptonBuilding Society(SBS) Group, providing independent insight, assurance, andopinions to stakeholders within the organisation.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
The Group Internal Auditportfolio covers the whole Skipton Group of companies within the UK, ChannelIslands and New Zealand. This includes Connells Group which is a fully ownedgroup company of SBS and is the largest Estate Agency in the UK. You will bepartof the SBS Group Internal Audit team, and this role will focus on thedelivery of Operational and Conduct Risk audits across the Connells Group.
You will work on and lead a wide range ofaudits covering all aspects of the Connells Group, including assessing:
- Operational and conduct risksin Estate Agency, Lettings and Surveying;
- FCA regulated activities provided through our Mortgage Services businesses;
- Financial Crime;
- Data Protection; and
- Change management.
This role enables you to
further develop your technical skills in Operational and Conduct Risk auditingalong with coaching and developing colleagues. As an Assistant Manager, you willbe accountable for the delivery of a number of audit assignments providingdirection and empowermentto the Group Internal Audit delivery team. You’ll beengaging with stakeholders across the Connells Group, to help deliver theInternal Audit Plan and to provide feedback on audit outcomes and prepare auditreports to encourage appropriate action. Through continuousmonitoring you willbuild trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business, sharinginsights and providing opinions. There will also be opportunities for you to beinvolved in various projects and initiatives across the SBS Group.
The SBS Group Head Office is based in Skipton, North Yorkshire and ConnellsGroup have Head Offices in Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes. We’ve adapted wellto home working during the current pandemic so there would not be a requirementfor you to be based atone of our Head Office full time. We are also happy toconsider any flexible working requests you may have. Due to the nature of therole work away from home will be required, this may be up to 25% of your time.

We’re looking for someone with experience in leading Operational and Conduct related audits who can help us manage risks effectively. You’ll be able to manage varying workloads and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
The key competencies for this role are:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Analytical skills;
- Stakeholder management;
- Experience working in a regulated environment; and
- Organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
