**Job Introduction**

GIA isthe third line of defence within the Skipton Building Society Group.Weprovide independent insight, assurance and opinions to stakeholders at alllevels within the organisation. We contribute to the Society achieving itsstrategic aims and objectivesby taking an agile approach to evaluate riskmanagement, control and governance processes to protect the interests of theSociety’s members and customers.In this role you will work with other GIA team members to review theeffectiveness of the systems and controls in place across the Group. You willsupport the delivery of assignments, and provide feedback to stakeholders onkey risks, supporting them in developingaction plans tomitigate these risks.

What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for contributing to the delivery of a range of risk focused reviewsas guided by your leader.
- Using Agile principles, your work will be of highquality and delivered timely in line with GIA Methodology and Report WritingStandards.
- You will communicate and collaborate with stakeholders in the business toagree appropriate actions to address risks identified through your assurancework.
- You will monitor risk data and associated key risk indicators as directed byyour leader to support GIA’s continuous monitoring.
- You will contribute towards GIA being recognised as a high performing team,that is appropriate
ly positioned within the Group, through actively supportingGIA’s continuous improvement culture.
- You will take responsibility for your personal development, aligned to theSociety’s Behaviours framework, to actively demonstrate the Society’s values ofOwnership, Trust and One team.

What You'll Bring

Skills - Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels. - High attention to detail. - Ability to raise queries and to challenge existing practices and negotiate toachieve the right outcomes. - Effective communication skills (both verbal andwritten) and listeningskills. - Enthusiasm and self-motivation to drive delivery and provide excellentcustomer service. - Embracing agile principles to plan and effectively re-prioritise and deliveryour workload.
Knowledge - Some experience/understanding of Conduct andOperational risk
Experience - Be able to work independently with limited direction and supervision. - Experience of working in an Internal Audit Environment and/ or FinancialServices.
