**Consultant in Acute Medicine with interest in Urogynaecology**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Teaching hospital in terms of achieving national and local targets based in East England. There is a close working relationship between staff and management with a strong culture of team working which contributes to a friendly working environment. The Trust serves a population of approximately 230,000, with 500 beds, 3,370 members of staff, both full and part-time, and a budget of £129 million per annum.

The area is one of the most popular British seaside resorts on the east coast of the UK also very affordable for living compared with other areas in the country.

**_ Main duties of the role:_**

1. Share with consultant colleagues the Acute Medicine workload,
which includes the Emergency Admission and Discharge Unit, the
Ambulatory Unit and the Short Stay Medical Unit.

2. Provide with the other Consultants a system of mutual out-of-hours
cover for Acute and General Internal Medicine and cover for annual,
study and professional leave.

3. Liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in the
regular clinical meetings and other post-graduate activities of the
hospital.

4. Maintain and develop team working practices involving other medical
staff, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.

5. Take part in the Royal College of Physicians continuing medical
education programme. The Trust will provide study leave expenses
in line with national terms and conditions of service. Take part in
medical appraisal and revalidation.

6. Participate in the rolling process of clinical governance.

7. Teach undergraduates from the Medical School during clinical
attachment at the hospital and participation in other teaching activities
(lectures, seminars, examinations). Teaching will involve bedside
(clinic and ward) teaching.

8. Act as an educational supervisor and engage in regular appraisal and
assessment of all doctors in training or in equivalent posts for whom
the post holder has educational or organizational responsibility.

**_ Essential Requirements:_**
- MBBS or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration.
- MRCP (UK) or Equivalent.
- Hold a certificate or being within 6 months of completion of training or being on or eligible. for the UK Specialist Register at the date of the interview.
