**Teaching Assistant 1:1 (SEMH) - Full-time - Horsham, West Sussex, UK.**
**8:30am - 3:30pm Term Time, long term.

This opportunity with involve working closely with 10-18 year old pupils that have Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs to support their development. The school has a highly effective senior leadership team and is able to demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning.

**Teaching Assistant 1:1 (SEMH) - Full-time - Horsham, West Sussex, UK, Immediate start, will anticipate notice periods.**
**What does the role involve?**
Staff will need strong communication skills, as well as a mutual respect formed by building relationships with their pupils.

Staff need to be able to look at what it is aimed for the pupils to learn and use their initiative to be able to support the pupils to engage in this through their lessons.

Staff may need patience, but also a motivating attitude to help the pupils succeed.

Staff must enjoy games & physical activities

**What are they looking for?**:

- Good initiative i.e. can see when students need help, need monitoring
- Be enthusiastic, be a role model
- Staff to follow the schools policies and procedures to maintain a highly effective environment
- Resilience
- Maturity (an understanding of your own behaviour, impact on pupils)

**What experience would be desired**:

- Previous experiences of working with young adults, students or children.
- Previous experience of SEN professionally or personally.

**Desired, but not essential**:

- Classroom/school experience in an SEMH setting
- NVQ Level 2/3
- Teaching Assistant related qualifications (CACHE, Courses)
