Mechanical Engineering Technician

Due to an increase in orders and workload, we are looking for a number of Engineering Technicians to join our established team at the Unipart Rail site in Crewe.Depending on your skill set and experience you will work in either our Relay, Repairs orManufacture Business Cells.
Working as part of a team and reporting to the team leader you will undertaketechnical engineering work of general components associated with the manufacture and repairs of rail products to meet the production demand.
Please note; we are now looking at a January start date
**Mechanical Engineering Technician Responsibilities:**:
- Observe Network Rail Standard Specifications.
- Inspection of safety-critical equipment.
- Develop, manufacture and install mechanical jigs and fixtures in to equipment housings.
- Assist the Manufacture Engineering department with then development implementation of Standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Work to tight deadlines.
- Restoration work.
- Manufacturing to pattern, observing Network Rail Standard Specifications
**Mechanical Engineering Technician Requirements:**
Essential
- Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering discipline
- High level of dexterity.
- Flexible and willing to learn.
- Motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
- Works to a high quality standard.
Desirable
- Previous rail experience

**Salary**: £30,000 per annum
