**JOB SPECIFICATION**
**Job Title**: Purchasing Assistant
**Rank**: 5 tbc
**Reporting to**: Technical Procurement Manager
**Responsible for**: To carry out purchasing duties for both stock replenishment and bespoke items to meet project outputs. To create and procure BoM’s from drawings. Provision of administrative support in preparing goods for export.
Responsible for raising Purchase Orders, updating The Procurement Manager on order progress. Creating parts, and other administrative tasks to improve the efficiency of the Supply Chain Department.
**Physical & Other Requirements**:
- Current valid driving licence.
**Qualifications, Skills & Attributes**:
- Good standard of education, preferably supported by a minimum of 4 ‘O’ Levels/GCSE's (grade C or above).
- Previous Purchasing experience within manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Competent in the operation of IT Systems Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams), Stores Management systems and Asset Management.
- Self-driven with the ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure work is completed within required timescales.
- Reliable & trustworthy with understanding of confidentiality.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good standard of education, preferably supported by a minimum of 4 ‘O’ Levels/GCSE's (grade C or above).
- Previous Purchasing experience within manufacturing or engineering industry.

**Key Duties**:
- Purchase Order creation, order management and price update.
- Carry out purchasing for all stock orders.
- Input BoM information and create parts as directed by The Procurement Manager.
- Action all internal transfers of stock.
- Ability to travel on occasions to meet suppliers, supplier visits and carry out audit.
- Provide administrative support for damaged and sub-standard goods.
- Maintain Export Records and produce Commercial Invoices.
- Respond to requests for input to TSS as directed by The Supply Chain Manager.
- Maintain International Order books.
- Take on special projects as requested by the Supply Chain Manager.
- To perform duties in accordance with all relevant legislation in particular the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Any other duties which the company may reasonably require the individual to undertake.
