An interesting new role has arisen for an experienced finance manager to lend support and leadership at a leading NHS Trust while it goes through a period of adjustment.

As Head of Finance, managing a team and reporting to the Deputy CFO, the post is responsible for the overall financial management and performance of the divisional business units to meet organisational and department objectives. This will include the provisionof expert strategic financial advice and information to managers and directors, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, integrity and business focus of financial systems and processes. Key to the role is participation in effective decision making that leads tothe delivery of financial targets and statutory duties, as well as maintaining high quality financial management services that support the short and long term planning processes. This will require a critical understanding, investigation and advice, often inand with challenging, complex and emotive issues.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with significant post qualification experience of financial management in a complex organisation, ideally in a NHS or Local Authority environment. Experience of managing and motivating a team to engagethe business and deliver reporting will be very important. Ideally you will have experience in project and capital planning and have used Oracle based ledgers and reporting tools. Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll need to rapidly developeffective working relationships across a range of stakeholders.
