Senior Support Worker

We are looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker within our Registered Care Home based in the Trehafod area of Rhondda Cynnon Taff.

**Role**:Senior Support Worker (Full Time)

**Location / Base**: Trehafod
- You will based in one of our registered care homes, with the expectation that Values in Care's Support Workers will work flexibly across the Company's services, as and when required._

**Working Arrangements**:

- Flexible dependent on the needs of the service.
- Based on 40 hours per week (pro rata if part time).
- Hours will be ‘operational’ and as such will be rostered to cover the needs of the service.

**Starting Salary**:£10.80ph

Plus associated allowances & premiums. - 'sleep in' shift payments

**Job Summary**:

- Act as a role model, mentor and leader to junior members of the staff.
- Provide direct support to residents in line with their individual care plans and activities.
- Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day to day running of the care home and take instruction from both.
- Take a lead role within the staff team and update the Deputy or Registered Manager with any issues.
- Ensure that all shift paperwork is completed and available to the Deputy/Registered Manager.
- Contribute to the development of residents by supporting them with a consistent model of care in line with their individual care plans.
- With training and support from the Registered Manager, Senior Support Workers may also take on the responsibility of conducting staff supervisions.

**Qualifications, Training & Experience**:

- Must have or be currently working towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Must be able to demonstrate a considerable level of competence gained whilst working in a service providing support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism or Asperger's.
- Full driving licence required
