Housing Options Officer

**Spencer Clarke Group **are assisting a **Local Authority **based in **Broxetowe** in the appointment of an experienced **Housing Options Officer **to join their **Housing Options and Team Services**
- As a Housing Options Officer you will be expected to inform customers who contact the Council regarding their housing circumstances about the housing options available to them. This includes, assessing the needs of homeless applicants and delivering the services required for the Prevention and Relief statutory duties._
**Key responsibilities will include the following**:
- To ensure that good quality information about housing options is readily available for customers and to personally convey the information to customers who require housing advice.
- Help to promote the housing options service to encourage applicants in housing need to use the service and provide assistance through early intervention.
- Assist customers in finding alternative housing when required such as mutual exchange register, housing register and rent guarantee scheme.
- Undertake the initial assessment of the circumstances of homeless applicants and decide whether the Prevention of Relief Duty is owed to them. If they are owed this, provide them with a Personal Housing Plan and keep both under review through close case management.
- Experience of providing Housing options advice and information.
- Previous experience of carrying out Homeless Assessments.
