Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence. They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement, and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets, and building their customer base further.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for **2 Strategic Buyers** on a **6 -Month** contract based within the client’s site in **Derby.**

Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence. They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement, and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets, and building their customer base further.

These positions are available on initial 6-month contracts and will support a **hybrid (office based/remote) **working model.

The Buyer will be responsible for the in-contract management of our designated suppliers, providing continuity of supply to required levels. You will be responsible for Strategy, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s). Working collaboratively, as part of a highly skilled cross functional teams to ensure that strategies meet the needs of current and future manufacturing programmes.

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sourcing activities are in line with the defined purchasing processes, which will include the raising and management of all purchase documentation within the appropriate system.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Negotiating to get best value/ cost reduction
- As a Buyer you will be managing the supply chain
- Implementing strategic sourcing strategies and process improvements
- Costs vendor management and working with supplier development teams
- Understanding supplier KPIs, SLAs, and their terms & conditions
- Using the appropriate data to make key business decisions

**Essential**:

- Complex contract management: contractual terms, negotiations, pricing
- Coming from a large, complex regulated enterprise with industry experience ideally Aerospace however can consider engineering, manufacturing, automotive or associated industries
- Strategic procurement background record - sourcing process, cost reduction, contract negotiations, RFQ’s etc

**Ideally**:

- Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent
- Experience with SAP
- Strong in Excel; Pivot Tables & V Lookups
