**Learner Support Coordinator**

We are seeking a highly motivated Learner Support Coordinator to join our team. As a Learner Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating a high-quality Learner Support service that supports students with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) including effective teaching, learning, and assessment which ensures successful learner outcomes and maximises the potential of every student to progress to their chosen destination.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Establish and maintain a caseload of students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), developing high quality Learning Support Plans, in accordance with their needs and/or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Act as a line manager for a team of Learner Support Assistants undertaking induction, probation, performance & absence management processes when required.
- Complete assessments of additional learner needs to create an individualised support package.
- Provide 1:1 or small group tuition to those with SEND who are identified as requiring additional tuition OR carry out bespoke interventions for students with ASC (depending on qualification).
- Coordinate exam access arrangement assessments for those on your caseload.
- Take a leading role when carrying out annual EHCP reviews and liaise with local authorities as required.
- Offer SEND learners training in the use of various assistive technology.
- Implement appropriate feedback and assessment systems to accurately check learning, adapting teaching as required to ensure learner progress.
- Operate within the Quality Assurance framework.
- Maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom consistently implementing the College’s behaviour management processes as required.
- Maintain and update teaching expertise and skills to continually develop your teaching practice and deliver the best outcomes for learners.
- Liaise with external stakeholders.

**Essential Criteria**:

- A degree with Honours and possess a PGCE or Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience in a similar role.
- A strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Experience of managing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Ability to maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.
