Job Title : Junior Collections Assistant

Job Overview

The role of the junior collections assistant sits within the collections team in London. You will be providing assistance to collections activities within the London office which will help to reduce lock-up and the firm's indebtedness. This role will allow you to develop and demonstrate core skills like teamwork, organisational skills, problem solving and communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Who you will work with

You will predominantly be working with the collections team in London but you could also have contact with fee earners, legal secretaries and the offshore team in Delhi. Being a part of Partnership Finance, the role will enable you to liaise with other areas within this wider team - namely billing, operations/cashiering and reporting.

What you will be responsible for

The specific purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the collections team within the London office. You will be required to adhere to firm policies and procedures and need to be able to work as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines.

What you will do

Operational Activities and Tasks:

- Following up on invoice status in the absence of team members
- Assisting with eBilling rejections
- Cash Allocation
- Analysis of Reports
- Updating the Debt Tool/GPMS Notepads
- Matter Reconciliation requests
- Query Resolution - following up with internal stakeholders to ensure prompt resolution of queries.
- Ad-hoc tasks as and when required

Your career experience so far

**Skills**:You should be familiar and confident in following a pre-determined set of processes and be competent in completing and recording tasks into a practice management or similar system.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to escalate/collaborate with team members in achieving successful outcomes that meet business needs. You should possess the confidence to communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with an aptitude to understand new concepts quickly.

You will need a flexible working approach and be solution focused in delivering the role's responsibilities.

**Experience**:
You will have previous experience of working within a credit control / collections team, ideally from Professional Services or a similar environment. You will have some experience of working in a target driven environment and will have a proven track record of delivering and exceeding targets.

Knowledge:
You will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Excel and Word.

You will be motivated and have a willingness to learn.

Qualifications:
You will hold 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) grades A-C, including Maths and English.
