**The Role**

An exciting new opportunity due to our continued growth, for an experienced Town Planner to join our team, based from any of our regional offices
- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, or Inverness, to help shape the Transmission business consenting strategy and play a central role in our Green Strategy.

We are seeking career focused and highly motivated applicants to work within an experienced and welcoming team of Planners and Environmental Managers. You will work with a high level of autonomy with the benefit of experienced support and guidance where required.

**Key Responsibilities will include**:

- Provision of specialist support and advice to project teams delivering complex planning and s37 consents.
- Representing our business interests by contributing to Scottish and UK planning policy development, Spatial Plans and Local Development Plans. You will help to build consensus and support around the electricity transmission system’s critical role in facilitating NetZero.
- Developing, controlling and building mutually beneficial external stakeholder relationships with consenting bodies, statutory authorities, key consultees, and government departments.
- Representing the company at Council Committees, Public Hearings and work with the Queens Counsel to prepare Statements of Case for Planning Appeals.

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to:
Be Educated to Degree Level and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
- Have a detailed knowledge of the Scottish planning process, consenting regimes and environmental impact assessment (EIA) legislation.
- Be solution focused and an enthusiastic/positive communicator. You should have excellent communication skills, being able to articulate complex spatial planning issues to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- A willingness to contribute, adapt, and learn within a busy, fast-moving team, dealing with challenges and opportunities across an extensive workload.
- Look to add value and improve the consenting approach through innovation and new ideas to deliver the green agenda.
