The primary purpose of this role is to be an expert in client services and strategic PR/communications, and have experience or an understanding if integrated communications. You would be expected to lead accounts and help to drive high levels of satisfaction, as well as seeking out new business and opportunities as the main senior client point of contact.

The **Associate Director** role should expand beyond every day client services and include responsibilities such as providing direction for the business unit / PR team, and supporting the PR leadership team delivering against operations, as well as ensuring delivery against company business goals.

You would be seen as a key ambassador for the company and its values.

**Responsibilities**

Client Services Management
- Think beyond the brief and see beyond clients immediate needs to advise at a high level of strategic thinking
- Set and maintain excellent levels of client service and instils this within the wider PR team
- Provide senior support to account teams on client discussions where appropriate
- Lead client satisfaction (ongoing relations / end of year survey) and ensures the client is happy throughout
- Maintain strong relationships with client procurement teams (in partnership with BD)

Product/Task Leadership & Accountability
- Senior lead for multiple account teams, including the establishment and maintenance of quality standards, cost efficiency and working practices
- Provide counsel on the strategic direction, growth and development, financial and resource management and delivery across account teams
- Responsible for keeping abreast with key events in the industry
- Provide strategic direction for the account teams
- Coach mid-level team members on their personal development and also how to lead their teams

Business Management
- Work closely with Directors to ensure that annual client revenue targets are achieved
- Help to drive alignment across client teams, ensuring appropriate servicing and delivery standards and providing internal leadership of accounts and teams
- Lead of new business pitches and proposals
- Lead of opportunities for growth with existing clients/ seeks new opportunities
- Seek ways to ensure competitive advantage through the delivery of innovative and diverse range of projects
- Ensure delivery of PR plan and goals against commercial company plan and goals
- Support account teams in following best practice across all financial processes
- Ensure optimum level of resource to service client account and pre-empts any resourcing issues
- Competently communicates ‘Lab to Life’ offering
- Thinks beyond PR and establishes good working relationships with senior leads of other business units

Team Orientation/Collaboration
- Manage career development and overall performance management of team members to ensure maximum productivity
- Ensure team are performing optimally and are feeling nurtured with development opportunities in place
- Promotes company wide initiatives and acts as an ambassador for the company both internally and externally
- Share best practice, knowledge and ideas with wider account teams

**Job Requirements**
- Degree educated
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) as well as presentation abilities
- Ability to flex style according to the needs of clients and teams
- Strong attention to detail & organisational abilities
- Exposure to Global accounts
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good financial & commercial acumen
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with plan execution
- Ability to be proactive & solutions focused
- Detailed knowledge of pharma regulations (ABPI)
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively as well as managing upwards
- Demonstrates and maintain up-to-date knowledge and capability in all main software packages including Microsoft Office.
