To provide motivational support and empowerment for clients to make behavioural changes via smoking interventions. Deliver the smoking cessation service in a professional, educated and non-judgmental manner via the telephone and through face-to-face appointments. To aid the cessation team with public health campaigns and recruitment events within the community to increase accessibility to cessation services. Be positive, approachable, confident and actively anti-smoking to achieve the goal of a smoke free Gateshead.

Assist the team to ensure all patients are given the support they need. Receive and act upon referrals in a timely manner. Engage in mandatory training to achieve a high level of education regarding smoking cessation. Attend community events and take part in public health campaigns to drive the anti-smoking message. Be willing to interact with a wide range of people in and outside of the hospital.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non
- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

Time management and excellent organisational skills so as to keep on top of a long list of up to 50 patients at any one time. Ability to give advice confidently regarding smoking cessation support and medication. Be able to work alone and remain motivated.
