Job Summary:
Littlehampton and Rustington Housing Society are a charity who provide housing and accommodation to people in the local community who are rapidly expanding and therefor are looking to hire an additional dedicated Housing Officer to join our team in managing a range of residential properties such as emergency accommodation, HMOs, and family properties to a high standard.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure the Tenant and Landlord experience is exceptional.
- Manage tenant inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Conduct property viewings and inspections.
- Organising safety inspections and flagging repairs, reporting back to landlords, and arranging any necessary remedial work. Responding quickly to a lack of security, essential services, and any potential dangers associated with a property.
- Management of tenants, tenancy sustainment, handling complaints, ASB and emergencies.
- Dealing promptly and courteously with communications from landlords and tenants.
- Processing end-of-tenancy reports, inventories, and schedules of conditions. Managing mid-term inspections and reporting, liaising with utility companies, letting offices and client accounts departments, and ensuring appropriate charges are made while keeping records up to date. Handling checkouts and negotiating the deposit return.
- Ensuring properties are ready for the next tenancy.
- Dealing with evictions.
- Assist in the monitoring and processing legal compliance's as directed by the property manager, booking in Gas safety certificates, fire risk assessments etc.
- Providing property management advice to existing and potential clients.
**Experience**:
- Ideally you would have experience in housing management or a related field. If you have transferable skills, we would also like to hear from you.
- Proficiency in data entry and office administration. Articulate in verbal and written communication with a good level of commonly used office-based IT packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with tenants.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a driver with a Full UK Driving Licence. Frequent travel required to properties using a company vehicle.

- Be confident and responsible.
- A professional manner and outlook.
- Working to own initiative, making responsible decisions and showing good team skills.
- Good pressure management and problem-solving skills.
Working hours are Monday to Friday between 8.30am to 4.30pm. Every 6 weeks you will take the On-call duty phone for evenings and the weekend. Call outs are infrequent, but carrying the duty phone is an essential part of the job. TOIL accrues for any call-out requiring attendance at any of the properties outside of core hours worked.

Pay: £26,000.00 per year
