Milk Education are working closely with a very reputable mainstream school in Ashington who are looking for a Child Support Worker to work with children in KS1 and KS2. In this role, you will be working within the mainstream classroom with the goal of helping these young students with complex social, emotional & behaviour needs receive the best standard of education possible.

As a Child Support Worker, you’ll work on a group or one-to-one basis with pupils with additional needs, which include ASD, SEMH and behavioural difficulties. This role can be challenging. However, you are part of making a real change to a student’s life - which can be extremely rewarding.

**The successful Child Support Worker must**:

- Have recent experience within a similar role.
- Be passionate about working with SEN pupils
- Be able to modify approach depending on pupils individual needs
- Be able to inspire and motive those that need additional support
- Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people

**Key responsibilities for your role**:

- Working with specific children from KS1 through to KS2 that require extra help and target support, depending on their needs
- Leading sessions outside of the classroom with children both 1-1 and small groups
- Working alongside other professionals to assess children including writing EHCPs
- Working with other teaching staff to design the best strategies to meet a pupil’s needs.
