General Assistant

Providing excellent customer service to actively encourage repeat custom. To help customers to find the correct products, supplying information on the ranges available and the best solution for their requirements. Ensuring that shelves are adequately stocked, well presented.

Acting as a General Assistant for the business, you will be required to ensure that the internal and external areas of the premises are kept clean and maintained to a high standard, minimising the risk to health and safety.

**What you'll be doing....**
- Assisting shoppers with good customer service, sourcing and assisting with any service and products that they require, upselling additional products where possible
- Assisting management with the preparation of opening and closing of the whole premises.
- Replenishing and pricing stock in line with correct displays
- Answering queries about ranges available and whether appropriate for the customers need
- Dealing with customer queries/complaints in a professional and structured manner and also bringing this to the attention of the Duty Manager and ultimately Senior Operations Manager.
- Processing customer transactions via the tills
- Reporting any issues to the Duty Manager/Senior Operations Manager.
- All areas of the premises (internal and external including car park) to be kept tidy and well managed at all times
- All materials/stock to be kept in pristine condition and good order
- Alerting the Duty Manager/Senior Operations Manager to possible threats from shop lifters or any suspicious activity
- Contributing ideas for the continuous improvement of the business
- Assemble and position display units including front of house display under the guidance of the Duty Manager
- Monitoring stock including fresh food items and ensuring items are within shelf life
- Recording and logging of any stock that needs crediting or wastage
- Acting in a professional manner, maintain the corporate image with our customers
- Being involved with the delivery and collection of all stock
- Ensuring that the storage areas to the rear of the Centre (undercover area) are stored in a tidy manner in line with Health and Safety regulations
- Ensuring that the store cupboard and the rear area to the Kitchen are clear of obstructions, items are stored away correctly and all neat and tidy
- Ensuring the staffing room is kept clean and tidy at all times
- Ensuring the outside external areas to the rear of the premises are kept tidy at all times, stock placed in a uniformed manner and water pump house tidy as well as poly tunnel areas
- Ensuring that the stock arriving in from large vehicles is unloaded in a safe manner and stored correctly

This role is being offered as a full time permanent position, working every other weekend.

Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 37.5 per week
