Head of Public Sector

**About the role**: We are looking for an entrepreneurial Head of Public Sector to take the lead on the development of new business and revenue growth specifically within UK Public Sector. This individual will be responsible for leading and developing strategy across a small team which forms part of high performing commercial function which drives growth for the agency. They will take responsibility for structuring individual and team-based revenue targets aligned to company strategy and work collaboratively with Marketing and Operational teams to achieve our commercial goals. As the Head of Public Sector, you will be commercially savvy, results-driven, ambitious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment. You will also be an excellent leader with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. **Focus**: The Head of Public Sector will lead and support a small Public Sector team focused on New Business; developing campaigns, proposals and pitch materials, contributing to the development of marketing materials, public speaking, networking and maintaining a strategic collaborative position with prospective clients and in our developing partner community. An ability to multi-task and prioritise both time and resource is critical to the success of this role. The Head of Public Sector should oversee the development of key agency pitches in this sector; supervising the process from start to finish, including deep qualification of opportunities, collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to influence content and pitch deliverables, challenging the team and client briefs, and raising the bar in our pitch content, delivery and win rate. With no two days the same, you’ll be involved in a variety of activities, but primarily we’d like you to: - Lead the development of new business and revenue growth activities specifically within UK Public Sector. - Own and develop the agency strategy for New Business in Public Sector aligned to agency commercial goals and a wider 3-year plan. - Own the new business target for the Public Sector team, demonstrating accountability and best practice across all systems, business processes, sales data and forecasting. - Support the team in the development of industry-leading content from written proposals and bids to client presentations, pitches, marketing collateral and thought leadership. **Requirements**: - Significant New Business experience in UK Public Sector or equivalent senior leadership/sector development role. - Previous experience in a Digital, Tech and/or Communications agency. - Demonstrable experience in meeting and exceeding individual/team based commercial targets in a sales-led environment. - Clear tenure/success in a Senior New Business or Head of New Business role. - Demonstrable experience in building relationships at C-suite CDO, CCO, CMO etc. - Evidence of leading and winning complex bids and pitches >£1m per annum. - Clear experience in leading complex, multi-discipline bid pursuit teams >10 people. - Demonstrable experience in owning a forecast and accurately providing business updates on Pipeline > Forecast > Commit. - Demonstrable experience in working with Marketing teams to shape and develop a value proposition/campaign within a sector. - A team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the competence to network effectively both internally and externally. - Empathetic and able to articulate a complex / sensitive sales pitch to a diverse stakeholder audience. - Good at information gathering and information management. - Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. - Self-motivated, autonomous, creative and able to work to deadlines. - Knowledge of CRM systems - ideally with HubSpot. - Naturally inquisitive, adventurous and a desire to challenge the status quo. - Ambitious and keen to be successful. **Hybrid & Homeworking** To ensure the health, safety & wellbeing of our employees we have minimum standards for homeworking environments which must be maintained.
