Job description

In November 2022, Sheffield City Council was part of awarded funding to deliver a Supported Employment project, aimed at supporting people with Learning disabilities and/or Autism into sustainable employment.

This project was due to end on 31st March 2025. The project has been successful, last year it achieved the highest quality audit in the country and we have been granted a contract extension until May 2026.

Opportunity Sheffield, Sheffield City Councils’ employment and skills service are recruiting 3 Senior Project Officer/ Job coaches

We are looking for 3 enthusiastic, flexible and forward-thinking members of staff who can support and help people with Learning disabilities and/or Autism to enhance their strengths and improve their job skills.

The job coaches will be mentors who will be able to help people to identify their strengths decide what job roles will be most suitable for them. They will work with employers to broker suitable job vacancies and support the individuals to gain and maintain employment, providing support within the workplaces.
- experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and / or Autism and have
- experience of supporting people into employment,
- ability to inspire and motivate people,
- outstanding communication skills and be proficient in MS Office.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
