We are a Indian Deli seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in the restaurant industry and developing their culinary skills.

Duties
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
- Follow food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
- Assist with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen utensils and equipment
- Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies
- Preparing, plating and presenting dishes
- Assist with basic food preparation - Breakfast, Lunch prep, light cooking.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Indian / Middle Eastern culinary techniques and food preparation methods is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

We are only able to accept applicants who have the right to work in the uk and live within a commutable distance to the location of the job role.

Working hours 8am-3pm 28hrs (4days) 3pm-10pm (3 evenings) 21hrs

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.50-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 7 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Chorlton cum Hardy: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Catering: 1 year (preferred)
