**Job summary**:
The Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) trains and educates Aeronautical Engineering, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear and Marine engineering and Communications and Information systems (CIS) personnel in order to meet the Defence requirement. The Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering (DSAE) is part of the DCTT and is responsible for the Design, Delivery and Assurance of Aeronautical Engineering delivered to the three services.

The Training Standards and Design Organisation (TDSO) team consists of an Officer Commanding, 5 Course Design Officers, 7 Validation Officers supported by 1 Administrative Support Officer. The team work very closely together in the design, maintenance & assurance of Aircraft Technician, Supervision, Engineering Management & Equipment courses. This is critical to ensure SAAE can deliver the training output required of the Aviation Field Army.

The role is part of TDSO at MOD Lyneham within DSAE. We are seeking an innovative, motivated individual who had a passion and dedication for delivering excellence. They will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the training delivered to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Aviation Students at the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering (SAAE). This role attracts opportunities for flexible working and working from home.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Key responsibilities will be:
Liaising with DSAE Joint Training Development Team (JTDT) on the development of Formal Training Statements.
Designing and producing Course Documentation Sets in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Quality Standard.
Maintaining Course Documentation Sets in accordance with the DSAT Quality Standard.
Project Manager (Lead) for the design, review and maintenance of allocated courses and other aviation related projects as tasked by OC Training Design & Standards.
Liaising with the key Stakeholders to ensure the design meets the requirements of the Customer.
Liaising with Training Assurance Standards (TAS) Team staff on the production of Assessment Specifications and assessment methods.
Liaising with the Training Delivery Department to establish the training media requirements to meet the course objectives and to identify any Residual Training Gaps.
Maintain configuration control of mandated DSAT training documentation produced by the Training Delivery Department in support of course Training Objectives.

**Person specification**:
The following criteria is desirable for the role:

- Proven experience in Defence Systems Approach to Training model.
- Instructional Design using the Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE)
- Working in an Aviation operating environment, recognised Apprenticeship or alternative period of training and a level 3 Certificate / Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
