**Job summary**:
The Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering (DSAE) is part of the Defence College of Technical Training and is responsible for the design, delivery and assurance of Aeronautical Engineering delivered to the three services. This position is a Validation Officer role for Training Standards and Design Organisation (TDSO) within DSAE at MOD Lyneham. The role will place you as the fifth member of the Training Assurance Standards team which is responsible for the assurance and internal validation analysis of the training delivered to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Aviation Trainees at the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering (SAAE).

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Key responsibilities, you will be:

- Liaise with Lyneham Training Design Team staff on the production and continued relevancy of Assessment Strategies, Assessment Specifications and Assessment Methods.
- Produce & maintain summative theory and practical tests in accordance with TDSO Management of Training System (MTS) Process to ensure they remain current to course Learning Specifications (LSpecs).
- Prepare theory and practical exam instances as required by SAAE Training Delivery schedule.
- Liaise with the SAAE Training Delivery Department on exam scheduling.
- Invigilate theory exams in accordance with TDSO MTS.
- Conduct practical assessments in accordance with TDSO MTS Process.
- Carry out the Quality Assurance of Instructor led Practical Assessments.Mark & moderate theory exams in accordance with TDSO MTS Process and carry out Level 1 & 2 Internal Validation analysis.
- Produce trainee Performance Reports as necessary.
- Generate re-sit examinations.
- Produce and conduct End of Module Discussions in accordance with TDSO MTS Process.
- Ensure all theory and practical results are recorded on TAFMIS & roll-up results completed in TAFMIS.
- Process Course Change Proposals & support Course Design activity.

**Person specification**:
**Essential. **The essential specific professional skills, knowledge or qualifications for the post are as follows:

- Mandatory MOD Training (carried out during induction).

**Desirable.** The desirable specific professional skills, knowledge or qualifications for the post are as follows:

- Worked in an engineering environment, with a recognised Apprenticeship or alternative period of experience.
- Proven experience in Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) model or Instructional Design using the Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
