As the Production Planner you will be responsible for providing the OHV repair facility with a production plan consistent with plant capacity and projected customer forecast requirements. You will also be responsible for compiling; detailed strip reports, formal quotes, and allocating budgeted hours to production jobs, and distributing the final information to Wabtec customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop firm production schedules and communicate to production lead/team;
- Act as a scheduling focal point and monitor production areas to ensure material and rotables delivery dates meet the customers’ needs;
- Identify and communicate issues and concerns that will hinder the business’s ability to achieve customer objectives and goals;
- Collaborate with Material Supply Management to assist with material procurement;
- Compile detailed strip reports and quotes for customers;
- Attend weekly meetings with customers to discuss and plan incoming/outgoing WIP delivery dates;
- Maintain data quality and integrity within Wabtec’s document depositories and scheduling tools;
- Review customer forecasts weekly/monthly to identify production gaps;
- Timely reporting of key production metrics to managers;
- Attend daily operational pre-start meetings and discuss delivery expectations with production team to achieve KPI’s; and
- Communicate effectively and positively within working relationships cross-functionally.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Tertiary qualifications in projects or planning or equivalent significant relevant industry experience;
- Proven ability to plan and manage production schedules in a multimillion-dollar industrial environment with achievement of On Time Delivery;
- Technical certification in mechanical/electrical trade or knowledge of OHV propulsion systems (wheel motor and alternator parts and assembles) will be well regarded;
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyze data, and generate opinions;
- Strong oral and written communication skills; and
- Experience in MRP and ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP.
