Sitting across our three business lines; Civil, Defence and Engines at our East Cowes manufacturing plants you’ll do just that. Established in 1901, one of our older production sites with a workforce of circa 800 employees. Our East Cowes plants, Isle of Wight are where we design, manufacture, test and repair high performance structures and systems. We have two facilities on the Island; Falcon Yard, Ferry Road and Osborne Site, Saunders Way. Both locations employ the company’s distinct competencies in major assemblies and composite structures for the global aerospace market. Our customer base includes Airbus, Astronics, BAE Systems, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, Cessna, Cobham, Honeywell, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce and Triumph.

**Job Summary**:
Reporting into the Procurement Operations Manager, the Operational Buyer will be based at our East Cowes site on the Isle of Wight joining our Indirect Procurement Team. Working across both our Civil and Defence business lines, this role will involve limited ad-hoc travel nationally and internationally. The Operational Buyer will be based in the office three days a week and will have the opportunity to work from home two days a week.

Indirect Procurement interface within nominated areas of the business at a site level. Working closely with key internal stake holders, global commodity teams, and suppliers. This role requires strong interpersonal and resource management skills to deliver against Indirect Procurement objectives focused on sourcing decisions, cost reduction opportunities, transfer of parts and services and continuous improvement opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for Site Indirect Procurement
- Creating, updating and presentation of Procurement slides / actions to both the Procurement SMT and IPT Programme / Project site reviews
- Responsible for the Supplier Sourcing / involvement with development Strategy, in line with the group commodity strategy.
- Responsible for the Supplier Selection RFQ’s with the use of E-Sourcing tools.
- Responsible for Supplier Negotiation, including price, general Terms and conditions both customer flow-down and GKN.
- Support the Procurement Project Managers for Programme Supplier Transfers (Major transfers)
- Responsible for Supplier Transfers (Minor transfers)
- Raising PO and liaising with the supplier
- Responsible for devising / investigating Programme Cost Reduction opportunities / activities linked to site cost reduction targets.
- Responsible for Site Indirect Procurement
- Responsible for Managing Programme Supplier risk (Use of rate readiness templates and an awareness of Dunn & Bradstreet for financials)
- Responsible for the resolution of Invoice queries
- Be the Escalation point for any Programme cost / contractual issues with Suppliers.
- As part of the role and when the job dictates, be required to travel to, and work at, other company premises on the UK mainland and abroad.

Essential:

- Previous Procurement or Supply Chain experience or an equivalent Business degree
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
- Comfortable managing key stakeholders

Desirable:

- Ideally have gained or is working towards MCIPS Qualification
- Negotiation and Contract negotiation experience
- Supplier Management
- Data Analysis
- Experience dealing with ambiguity
- Managing Risk
