**About The Role**:
Compass Fostering are looking to add to their Foster Care Panel. We are looking to recruit a **Panel Chair** to attend our meetings at our offices in **Wales.**

The fostering panel provides independent oversight of the recruitment, assessment and review of foster carers and makes reasoned decisions on their suitability to foster.

Applicants should have experience either professionally, personally or both, of the placement of children in adoptive or foster families, or of children being cared for away from their birth family. It is desirable that the applicant has previous experience of chairing formal meetings, preferably in the social care and fostering sector.

**We are looking to recruit the following people to act as Chair**:

- someone from a medical or health background
- someone from a social work background
- someone from an education background
- someone with recent experience of fostering children.
- someone who has personal experience of being a looked after child.
- someone who has experience in child/adult care.

**You must have a good understanding and knowledge of the following**:

- WIF (All Wales Induction Framework)
- Children’s Wellbeing Outcome
- Welsh Offering
- The Fostering Panels (establishment and Functions) (Wales) Regulations 2018 Fostering Services (Wales)
- The Independent Review of Determinations (Adoption and Fostering) Regulations Wales 2010 Part 6 of the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014
