The Working Supervisor is a key role to deliver a range of responsive maintenance activities to a diverse customer base for Great Places Housing Group.

The post will work under Repairs Field Manager and will be expected to compliment their management of the team providing support and direction when the RFM is unavailable. The job is to drive a culture of outstanding customer journey, by supporting and coaching a multi-trade workforce to deliver a wide range of responsive maintenance.

**PURPOSE OF ROLE: **

To support the regional RFM in the delivery of an exceptional customer journey for maintenance and repairs service with the continuous improvement of the service and contribute to the delivery of the overall repairs strategy and performance drivers of the group.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: **
- To deputise for the RFM when required and undertake the duties commensurate with that nature of the role of RFM.
- To ensure robust and pro-active health and safety management system are adhered and complete any required processes to ensure compliance including the management of both operatives and contractors.
- To assist in the undertaking of property inspections in relation to repair and maintenance management, voids management and provide technical support to colleagues and customers in a range of property services.
- To provide a high level of customer service at all times, behaving in a respectful, courteous and polite manner to internal and external customers when representing Great Places Housing Group.
- To promote and ensure where possible a 'first time fix' culture is preserved through correct diagnosis, multi-trade working and an effective relationship with the supply chain, maximising productivity at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation, licences and accreditations including the relevant Safety Management System applicable to responsive maintenance.
- To adopt a flexible approach to work, undertaking and promoting work within a multi-trade environment .
- To ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, waste management and monitoring arrangements.
- To carry out van stock checks and promote the development of a core range of materials, consumables and individual vehicle stocks to meet the demands of the responsive maintenance service.
- To regularly support operatives in the work regarding any issues regarding customers and their expectations, maximising the skill within the operative team through the multi-skilling programme.
- To promote and develop the use the relevant mobile working solution for job allocation, data transfer and collection.
- To promote additional services, and other initiatives as appropriate, within the team and to customers where appropriate.
- To follow the Group's equal opportunities policies and practices and promote cultural diversity across all aspects of the team's work.
- To undertake and contribute to a competency based framework through specific training and development initiatives.

**Person Specification**

**QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS**:

- C&G Advanced Craft NVQ level 2 or HNC in Building Surveying/Construction
- An understanding of customer service and in particular delivering property services
- Knowledge of legal statuary requirements and good practice
- Understanding of value for money
- Full driving license
- Proficiency in use of MS Office or equivalent software
- Experience of working with housing-specific IT systems
- Qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths

**EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: **

**Essential **
- Strong technical knowledge of repairs and voids
- Ability to display leadership skills to manage a multi skilled team of trade operatives within the building/construction field
- Experience of inspecting and reviewing works, working within budgets, ensuring commercial viability and a high quality product.
- Developing and delivering policy and procedures
- Experience of working within the construction sector.
- Managing maintenance and refurbishment works to ensure they are carried out to agreed standards and timescales.
- Inspecting and review works with a view to ensuring health and safety compliance is achieved in an operational environment.

**Desirable **
- Supervisory or managing maintenance work undertaken by in-house teams or external contractors.
- Experience of partnership working
- Experience of delivering Continuous Improvement
