The Role:
- To support people to live as independently as possibly.
- Facilitate in and accompany on day trips and in fun activities.
- Assist with the preparation of meals and or other food and drink.
- Sitting and companionship services.
- Assist out and about in the community such as taking service users to essential appointments and assist with everyday activities such as shopping or medication collections.
- Undertake light housework tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, washing, ironing and dusting.
- Assist with all activities of daily living, including personal care through to complex care.
- Maintain clear and accurate records.
- Ensure health, safety and well-being of the service users and themselves.
- Maintain regular and courteous contact with the branch manager.
**Requirements**:
- Reliable with an excellent work ethic.
- Provide the highest standards of care and support.
- Respect the individuality and confidentiality of the service users.
- Respect the service user's independence and authority, be mindful of their wishes and to treat them with fairness and courtesy at all times.
- Ensure and adhere to strict standards of health and safety thereby ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the service users and themselves at all times.
- Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Have a valid driving licence and own transport.
Desired Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant previous experience preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communications skills - good standard of spoken and written English.
- Reliability.
