The postholder will be responsible for the setting, programming and operating CNC 3,4 & 5 axis milling machines, as lead person reporting directly to the management team. This would include, all programming, machine setting & operating.

Changing worn tooling, inputting part programs, quality inspection of finished goods and ensuring a high standard of housekeeping is maintained. Also, technical assistance when needed on job quotations.

An excellent knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to read technical engineering drawings and data file drawings is essential, as would previous use of Auto CAD & Offline programming systems (One-CNC), On the job training would be given in these areas, for users of similar systems.

The potholder would be a team player able to follow verbal and written instructions, and keen to learn new skills. Forklift truck licence an advantage as the roll would also involve the handling/unloading of materials, with the distribution to the work areas

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- CNC Setting-Programming-Operating - Milling 3, 4 & 5 axis
- Programming from technical drawings - all file formats
- Operating - laser part marking machine
- Operating - Rumble deburr machine
- Machine setting
- Inputting of pre-qualified part programs
- Pre-setting of tooling
- Changing of worn tooling in accordance with operational procedures
- Quality inspection of produced finished parts
- Material handling and distribution to correct machine/work area
- Load/Unload of materials using Forklift truck
- Ensure housekeeping is of a high standard
- Reportable to management team
- Health and Safety

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- Precision CNC engineering experience
- Working on own initiative
- Team player
- Reading and understanding technical engineering drawings
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of Auto-CAD / One CNC
- Keen to learn new skills

**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Time served / apprentice trained
- Experience of working with a wide range of materials: Steel, brass, bronze, aluminum and plastic
- NPD, Prototyping and R&D experience (desirable)
- Health and Safety
- Precision engineering experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance)
