**The Role**:
In this role you will manage the private client team in conjunction with the Tax Partner to ensure timely and accurate delivery of technical tax services. This will include:

- Managing and servicing clients in own portfolio (which includes the most complex clients) and maintaining outside communications with clients and third parties.
- Complete complicated client tax returns.
- Develop deep relationships with clients.
- Leveraging the portfolio to generate advisory work and deliver it.
- Responsibility for departmental initiatives and programmes whilst continuing involvement in supervision, training and development of the team.
- Ensuring tax department administration is kept up to date, and routine administration dealt with in a timely manner, such as timesheets and billing.
- Manage workloads of junior members of the tax team.
- Being responsible for the recruitment of graduates and more junior members of the team.
- Line managing several individuals.
- Identify cross selling opportunities to partner through networking.
- Actively support Tax Partner.
- Responsibility for departmental initiatives and programmes.
- Having Involvement in marketing of the tax service line by attending client functions and seminars.

**Essential Skills and Experience**

The ideal person for this role will be well organised and able to work to agreed timescales, whilst having the ability to actively engage with clients. You will:

- Undertake CPD in accordance with Institute and Rouse requirements and maintain up-to-date CPD record.
- Have outstanding people management skills.
- Identify training needs of the team and coach/supervise where required.
- Manage workload of team and provide feedback on performance.
- Ensure technical knowledge is up to date and seeks expert advice when required.
- Have excellent report / advice writing skills.
- Be experienced with capital taxes and other typical advisory aspects of personal tax
- Be experienced with non-domiciled individuals [preferable but not essential]
- Maintain excellent relations by communicating effectively at all levels with colleagues and clients. Accurate documentation of work and ability to use initiative.
- Have an overview of all private client tax work.
- Take appropriate level of responsibility to maintain a high quality of work whilst organising and managing time efficiently and effectively.
- Be able to do technical research on areas for Partner and provide summary information on findings.
- Plan time effectively and completes timesheets by the required deadline.
- Maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice.
- Qualified ATT and/or CTA - substantial relevant tax experience.
