What you'll do

You will assume the responsibility of proactively managing due diligence and data collection for our global supply-base. Your main focus will be ensuring compliance with relevant Sainsbury's standards and policies, working closely with produce suppliers, technologists, and technical managers. Your role will involve driving the compliance agenda for the category, completing specifications, ensuring accurate artwork, and verifying supplier compliance with Sainsbury's sourcing standards before each season begins. You will also contribute to sustainability targets and support produce technologists and technical managers in meeting these targets. In your role, you will establish and maintain a robust system of compliance management, collating and maintaining accurate product information for all Sainsbury's brand products. You will conduct due diligence activities, including gathering ethical requirements, pesticide information, and certification documentation, as well as visiting packing sites and engaging with growers and the supply base to ensure compliance. Additionally, you will drive effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, implement and enforce standards, set targets, conduct investigations, manage KPIs, and oversee pesticide management.

Who you are

You are a highly skilled professional with a strong background in compliance management and technical expertise within the food industry. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the proactive management of due diligence and data collection from our global supply-base. With your deep understanding of relevant standards and policies, you work closely with produce suppliers, technologists, and technical managers to ensure compliance with Sainsbury's sourcing standards and specifications. You play a crucial role in driving the compliance agenda, conducting audits, managing supplier relationships, and setting targets to meet our sustainability objectives. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate and influence enable you to investigate compliance issues, develop action plans, and deliver technical excellence in all aspects of product compliance.
