An established brand who are driving sustainability within their product category, is looking for an experienced Product Technologist to join their team.

You will be responsible for managing the technical areas across the business, this will include liaising with their global vendor base, managing all product testing, close communication with large/volume retailers on own label product requirements, and workingclosely with the NPD team to advise on both opportunities and risks for new products and concepts. You will also be involved in the business’ drive towards further sustainability, looking at and improving the eco credentials of products and materials whereverpossible.

**Duties in this Product Technologist roleinclude**:

- Ownership and maintenance of Technical files / compliance database across both own label and main range products
- Liaising closely with our global vendor base on compliance, testing and QC issues, ensuring all relevant critical path dates are achieved
- Involvement with the NPD team during initial stages of development to both risk assess and advise on opportunities, flagging any potential compliance issues and devising testing plans
- Manage the testing process for new products, ensuring all products comply with the appropriate legislation for the markets to which they will be shipped
- Liaise with 3rd party Technical consultants as required to ensure products comply with all required legislation
- Responsibility for packaging and technical artwork accuracy and compliance
- Produce and manage all required data and certification for the retailers own label products, updating customer portals as required
- Track and manage any quality or testing issues
- negotiating, resolving issues, and coming up with positive resolutions
- Manage detailed process of Pyrotechnic product approval with support of a 3rd party
- Collate and submit annual Waste Packaging data
- Keeping abreast of developments the compliance, being an expert in your field
- Work with the sourcing team on pre-shipment inspections for customers’ own label products, following up on any issues

**The successful Product Technologist will have / be**:

- 3+ years’ experience within a Product Technologist, Quality or Sourcing role within a wholesale consumer product business
- Direct experience with global vendors
- An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally, internally and externally
- Highly analytical, deadline driven, and with a detail-orientated nature
- Ability to prioritise workloads, and manage a large and varied workload
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel
- A skilled multi-tasker, with excellent organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced role
- Accurate, flexible, self-motivated, and proactive
- A strong team player with a positive outlook
