Career Teachers have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Attendance Officer to work within a Birmingham based secondary school. This in an interim role to start as soon as possible, 37.5 hours per week, Monday
- Friday 8:00am
- 4:00pm, termtime only.

You will be working within a high performing secondary school, who have a real family feel where students are nurtured and supported through their education journey to become confident, articulate, resilient and kind young adults. Our school are seekingto appoint someone who believes passionately about making a difference to the lives of every student and who does so with a high-level of personal drive, energy, and integrity.

As a school attendance officer, you will play a key role in monitoring, analysing, and intervening with student attendance, absence, and punctuality across the school to ensure that all students achieve their potential. You will be working closely with theschool pastoral team, pupils, staff, parents, and carers to reduce levels of absence, identifying key areas of concern, and acting appropriately.

**Requirements**:

- Applicants must have recent experience of working as a school attendance officer or have previous experience working within a pastoral role.
- A calm and positive attitude
- Have a passion for supporting and nurturing students.
- Committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people.
- Emotionally intelligent with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and carers.
- Able to work in a busy, challenging, yet rewarding environment.
- Knowledge and experience of using ICT systems such as SIM and Microsoft Office
- Eligibility to work within the UK.
- Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
- Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer a FREE online Safeguarding training course
- Able to provide a minimum of 2 x references to cover the last 2 years of employment history.
