Graduated Response Inclusion Practitioner

**JOB PURPOSE**:
- To provide a package of support to increase children and young people’s access to education specifically relating to medical needs; home education, education employment and training, children missing education and exclusions. To model good practice, best endeavours and reasonable adjustments for professionals and families to ensure quality education is accessible and maintained within educational settings and home education.
- To keep records as required by the Manager.
- To support children and young people to re-engage in educational opportunities To assist in the day to day management of a caseload of children and young people with the supervision and support of the Education Officer and Team Manager.
- To work directly with children and professionals in various settings to enable children to participate as fully as possible in the delivery of plans or programmes to promote the education and inclusion of children and young people.
- To promote inclusion
- To implement the programme of support devised by the Education Officers
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Level 3 in a relevant discipline
- Evidence of training, or of further study, that enhances the applicant's understanding of education, training, employment and careers advice for children and young people or demonstrable experience identified within the section below.
- Substantial experience with working with children, young people, and families, in either case work or educational settings
- Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
- Experience of engaging with young people and tier families who are at risk of missing out on educational opportunities
- Knowledge of child development and an awareness of differing needs of children and young people
- Education, knowledge of the EHCP process
- Knowledge of partner relationships to seek positive and innovative outcomes for young people around education, training and employment.
- Good personal organisational skills e.g. time management
- Ability to relate to parents/carers who may be under considerable stress
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, coupled with good listening skills
- The ability to deliver training to staff and other professionals
- Evidence of being able to work collaboratively within a team with the ability to generate enthusiasm
- The ability to take responsibility for meeting deadlines adjusting tasks and priorities as situations demand,
- A flexible approach to working, including out-of-hours, and an ability and willingness to travel to various locations
- Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
- Possession of a valid driving licence, access to a vehicle, and relevant insurances. However, a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability
